The film was awarded two prizes at the Cannes Film Festival (the Cinema Prize for the French National Education System & the FIPRESCI Prize). Additionally, she was the child character in Francis Ford Coppola's Youth Without Youth. In 2008, she played Yasim anwar, a character from the BBC five-episode miniseries The Last Enemy. Marinca played roles in Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven as well as the Romanian film Boogie. Then she played Irma's German aunt in Fury that was released in 2014.
