Catherine Ford is a British actress who was born in Bloomsbury. After her father's divorce from the household, the actress was grew to maturity by her mother, grandparents, and godparents. While a small infant, Ford struggled with anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder caused by the word association. Ford was attracted to acting in her teens, and joined the National Youth Theatre. She was accepted to the Sylvia Young Theatre School. After just a few weeks, she realized it was not suitable for her. Ford applied instead to the Central School of Speech and Drama and finally won an interview on her fourth try. Shaun Dingwall would play Pete Tyler who is a character that was recurring for Doctor Who. Ford could graduate in 1993. However, she already made a TV appearance in a 1992 episode of Surgical Spirit. She adopted the title Catherine Tate. Tate was on television in the Nineties with shows such as The Bill and Men Behaving Badly. She also worked regularly in the theatre, eventually becoming a member of with the Royal Shakespeare Company for its 2000-2001 season. Tate gained not long after her recognition for her stand-up comedies, that were added to Tate's show in the year 1996.
